Put Your Record Behind You

An expungement is a process by which a person’s legal record of arrest or conviction is “sealed” or erased in the eyes of the law. If an arrest or conviction is expunged, it will not appear on your criminal background check for most employers. Employers in fields such as medical, education or law, will have access to expunged records. It is always recommended to expunge any arrest or conviction to prevent any restrictions you could face in the future.

After you have pled or you have been convicted of a crime, you may be eligible to have the conviction expunged from your record. There are certain requirements that must happen in order to be eligible. If the proper procedure is followed it does not automatically expunge your record. You must file certain paper work following your plea or conviction. We are happy to meet with you to determine whether your charges are eligible for expungements. Even if we did not represent you on the criminal charge, we can help with the expungements. The process can take up to a year after filing, therefore, it is recommended to contact our office as soon as possible to get started.
